TSL-2 Programmer Instructions
Transponder Key Programming Instructions
Important Notes
- Having an existing “master key” is important in order to program a new spare. Find out if you have a master key or valet key. Click HERE
- The key chip marking (Dot, G or H) on the blade of the old and new key should match.
- The purpose of including the phone is that we already have the app downloaded, installed, Bluetooth paired, and the Activation complete. So there is no need to do the activation if you are using the pre-loaded phone.
- Be Careful. Pressing the wrong buttons in the app can mess up your vehicle’s ECU. You’re responsible for your own actions.

Email us at help@tomskey.com and let’s see how we can help you.
The programmer’s Bluetooth won’t connect/turn blue?
The pre-loaded phone has been bluetooth paired and activation complete. Click Immobilization in the app and see if it works.
How many keys can be programmed to my vehicle?
4 to 5 transponder keys (varies by vehicle).
What if my vehicle reached the limit of maximum keys to be programmed?
TSL-2 can erase lost/existing keys except for the key in the ignition. Watch the video demonstration on how to.
In adding a key, when the new key is in the ignition, the security light never stops blinking after 60 seconds.
- The security light and the way it blinks can give you some insight into diagnosing a problem.
- If the light blinks every 2 seconds = It is operating normally
- If the light blinks twice quickly and followed with 1 blink a half-second later = Key programming has failed
- If the light blinks twice quickly and followed by 2 more blinks a half-second later = Key is already programmed
- If the light blinks twice quickly and followed with 3 more blinks a half-second later = Maximum amount of keys are already programmed
How will I know if my new key is successfully programmed?
The security light will stop blinking when you slide in the new programmed key in the ignition.
Remote Fob Programming Instructions
Important Notes
- You must have at least one working key to program new remote fobs.
- Your vehicle must have the standard remote keyless entry feature from the manufacturer.
- This will not add remote features that your vehicle did not originally have.
- A fresh/new battery in the remote fob is a must while programming. If the battery is dead or weak, we can definitely send a new one.
What if my only key is not a master key?
You will still be able to erase and program new remote fobs to your vehicle.
What if my existing remote is not working properly?
You don’t need a working remote to program a new one. Just be certain that the problem is not within the vehicle’s anti-theft system or door mechanism.
Do I need a working remote to erase lost remotes?
Yes, the remote erasing procedure requires a working remote.
The programmer’s Bluetooth won’t connect/turn blue?
The pre-loaded phone has been bluetooth paired and activation complete. Click Immobilization in the app and see if it works.
I don’t hear the beep after pressing the lock+unlock then lock step.
Make sure the battery in the remote fob is not dead. Repeat the lock+unlock then lock cycle 3 to 5 times until the vehicle beeps.
How will I know if my new remote is successfully programmed?
After the remote programming procedure, remove the key from the ignition and close the doors. Press any buttons on the new remote and see if it works. If it doesn’t, reinstall the programmer and repeat the process.

Toyota Smart Key Fob Instructions
Important Notes
- You must have at least one working smart key fob to program new ones.
- Avalon, Camry, RAV4, Tacoma, and Prius were manufactured with multiple fob options. On these vehicles, confirm that the fob FCC ID/part number, circuit board number, shape and remote buttons are identical to your original smart key as shown. Click HERE for the video demonstration.
- This will not add remote features that your vehicle did not originally have.
- A fresh/new battery in the fob is a must while programming. If the battery is dead or weak, we can definitely send a new one.

The programmer’s Bluetooth won’t connect/turn blue?
The pre-loaded phone has been Bluetooth paired and activation complete. Click Immobilization in the app and see if it works.
“License Exception” shows in the app at the beginning. How to proceed?
Connect the phone to WiFi, press“Activation”, then reactivate the programmer.
Do I have to do the “erase smart keys” procedure?
Yes, this will prevent any smart key fobs not in your possession from opening and starting your vehicle. This also helps to refresh the vehicle’s memory and accept new keys.
The app prompted “operation failed”. What to do next?
Instructions have timing requirements. If you wait too long between steps, your vehicle’s computer may time out, requiring you to start over. Once you begin the pairing procedure, move at a quick and even pace.
My vehicle does not recognize the new smart key fob when I hold it near the start button. What should I do?
Check the battery in the new fob. Hold the new fob with the buttons facing you and move it around the start button.
It says “programming success” but my new smart key won’t work?
Most likely, the old smart key was held on the start button twice. Make sure to remove the old key after the initial beep. Also, check the battery and compatibility of the new fob.
