The security light and the way it blinks can give you some insight into diagnosing a problem.
If the light blinks every 2 seconds = It is operating normally
If the light blinks twice quickly and followed with 1 blink a half-second later = Key programming has failed
If the light blinks twice quickly and followed by 2 more blinks a half-second later = Key is already programmed
If the light blinks twice quickly and followed with 3 more blinks a half-second later = Maximum amount of keys are already programmed
The security light will stop blinking when you slide in the new programmed key in the ignition.
